A Day in the Life of... Laura Grime
Who are you and how was your day?
I am Laura Grime. My day was lovely because it was my Birthday!
The photos are taken at: the hidden gardens after Bookbug at the Tramway, where we are often to found exploring. On a train between Glasgow and Edinburgh - off to visit granny. We love the train - so much to see! And blowing out my birthday candles - Ariadne sang me happy birthday which made my day!
What do you do and where are you based?
I’m a music teacher, violinist and mother based in Glasgow’s south side. I’m about to start studying to become a breastfeeding counsellor which I’m very excited about!
What do you most enjoy about what you do?
I love being a mum - it’s rarely dull and it’s generally great fun! My daughter makes me laugh a lot. I also enjoy the flexibility of being a freelance worker.
When you were younger, what did you want to be? Would you give any advice to your younger self or your child now?
I wanted to play the violin when I was wee. I think I would say just keep doing what you love and don’t doubt it.
At the moment, what or who makes you laugh?
Ariadne - she’s hilarious and raucous.
What is your favourite smell?
Roses and lavender and my husband - he smells great! Hahaha!
What 2 things do you or your wee one love about the necklace?
We both love its stretchy qualities - it’s fun and it doesn’t matter if it gets pulled! I also love that it’s made from ‘waste’. I’m a big fan of repurposing and I think ethical and environmental fashion is essential for the planet.
